  • Southwire gives shipping instructions; costs above its least-cost return method may be charged to you.
  • Keep the verification email from your return request.

How to schedule

Submit the Reel Pick-Up Request Form on Southwire's reel page. For steel reels, notify the Steel Reel Manager by email, web or the reel return app (phone calls are not accepted) with the original consignee, ship date, reel invoice number and reel serial numbers. Don't ship without Southwire's consent.

Notes

Deferral of the reel charge for large projects can be negotiated at quotation.

Southwire's chart prints reel charges for each steel reel size; check the current chart for your reel.

Before you call

  1. Empty every reel

Programs want empty reels. Leftover cable can cost a fee or get the reel refused.

  2. Count Southwire reels only

Other brands don't count toward the minimum. Check the count against the minimum above. Yard math shows how much of a truck it fills.

  3. Inspect against the condition rules

Set aside reels that fail. They go to a buyer or a recycler instead.

Reels Southwire won't take?

Other brands, short loads, plywood and reels that fail inspection can all go in one pickup.
